Mint & Cilantro Pepper Dip

Hello Foodies!

Here is another pepper dip recipe for you all. Mint and cilantro pepper dip. My grandma called me over to go pick some of her fresh cilantro and mint in her garden and it smelled so good I started to crave mint pepper dip. Organic homegrown cilantro and mint is so much sweeter, more fragrant, and earthier than most herbs you typically buy at the grocery store. If you know what I’m talking about you know 🙂  So I wanted to share with you all one of my favorite herb pepper dip during this time of year. Mint and cilantro pepper dip. Sounds weird? Sure! But it sure does taste amazing if you haven’t tried it yourself. It goes great with poached meat especially poached chicken and sticky rice. A very simple pepper dip, but also very addicting with meat and rice. SOOOO GOOD! So give it a try and let me know if you like it. 🙂

Main Ingredients

 My grandmas fresh mint & cilantro Mint, cilantro, green onions, chili peppers, garlic, salt, mushroom seasonings, and fish sauce. Pound away
YUM!Serve with sticky rice and poached chicken. It goes great with other grilled or poached meat as well. Also great with steamed vegetables too 🙂

Mint & Cilantro Pepper Dip

Serves: 6-8 Prep Time: Cooking Time:
Nutrition facts: 200 calories 20 grams fat

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ - 2 cups chopped fresh mint (3oz)
  • 1 cup chopped fresh cilantro (2oz)
  • ½ cup chopped fresh green onions (1oz)
  • 1/2 tsp salt (add more at the end if needed)
  • 8 Thai chili peppers
  • 1 small garlic clove
  • ¼ tsp mushroom seasoning (optional)
  • 2 Tbsp fish sauce

Instructions

1) Rinse and chopped all the herbs. Set aside

2) In your mortar and pestle, add in the chili peppers, garlic clove, salt, and mushroom seasoning. Pound until the garlic and peppers are smashed up. Then add in all the chopped herbs. Smash until the herbs has turn a darker green color and has wilted about half the size. Then mix in the fish sauce and stir. Then pour into a bowl and serve with poached or grilled meat and rice. Enjoy!

Notes

Add as much pepper as you want. Start with less salt and add more if needed after it's done pounding. Serve with sticky rice and poached chicken. It goes great with other grilled or poached meat as well. Also great with steamed vegetables too
