Nyob Zoo all!
Hello to the instant noodles I grew up eating. I wanted to share with you the ones I grew up eating and how we liked to enjoy them. Mama & Maruchan were always the one my parents would stock up on. Mama is a staple in our family (especially the pork & Tom yum flavor). Sapporo Ichiban came later during our teens. Which instant ramen did you grow up eating & which ones have you come to like now?
INSTANT NOODLES
Ones I grew up eating includes: Maruchan shrimp flavor, Maruchan beef flavor pack, Mama tom yum & pork flavor, Sapporo ichiban chow mein & Mamy.
Maruchan shrimp flavor was paired with ground chili with fried garlic, creamy peanut butter, fresh lime juice, & beansprouts. It’s spicy, sour, creamy and has great crunchy texture from the beansprouts. yum!
Maruchan beef flavor packet was paired with any types of vegetables in the fridge (for us that was either yu choy/cabbage/carrots/ and or onion), eggs, and sriracha for some spice. Instead of boiling it into a soup form, we would stir fry it. Mama noodles was always with just eggs. We would crack eggs into boiling water and pour it over the noodles. Cover it and enjoy it. It’s as simple as that. So good! Mamy noodle is one of my moms favorite simple instant noodle. I grew up eating it with fresh herbs like mint, cilantro, & green onions. Mom would add some greens like yu choy or bok choy for extra texture and vitamin :). It’s a more simple style she likes to make. The addition of fresh mint is super refreshing.
Sapporo Ichiban chow mein was one of my favorites in my early teens. My brother introduced this one to us. It would be stir fried with cabbage, onions, and eggs along with Kewpie mayo on top. So good!
And those were the top 5 instant ramen I grew up eating.
Enjoy!
