BITTER BEEF SOUP The soup for them old souls 😎 BITTER BEEF SOUP

The soup for them old souls 😎

This soup features an assortment of different cuts of beef and gets its distinctive bitterness from beef bile. It’s rich in aromatics and super flavorful especially when made with high-quality beef. Although it’s commonly enjoyed during special occasions, you can absolutely make it at home any time of the year.

BEEF TENDON SOUP One of my favorite comfort soup BEEF TENDON SOUP

One of my favorite comfort soups to have. This is how I grew up eating it and so I wanted to share it with you! It’s textually fun with all the different styles of beef added in, a little tang from the sour bamboo, and quite aromatic. Great served hot with fresh steamed rice 🙌

Behind the scenes of the kitchen chaos and recipe Behind the scenes of the kitchen chaos and recipe testing it takes to release recipes into the world. It’s honestly a lot of work, but it’s rewarding. I’ve been doing this for a while now and still enjoy the learning process, as food is always changing and evolving.

I spent half of last year working on my cookbook proposal, from researching to recipe testing, taking photos, and writing A LOT. I mean A LOT… my eyes and back almost gave out 😅 Then came creating and designing which I had so much fun with. The process was pretty insane since I really wanted it to be as true and authentic as possible. I made it a goal to finish it early this year, and I’m proud to say I finally completed it. I’m anxiously excited and hopeful. Like mom says, if you really want it, you gotta make it happen Cindy 🙌 So here we go 💛
PANDAN HONEYCOMB CAKE (Banh bo nuong) Welcome ba PANDAN HONEYCOMB CAKE (Banh bo nuong)

Welcome back to an updated Pandan Honeycomb Cake recipe! This honeycomb cake also known in Vietnamese as Bánh Bò Nướng is well known for its unique honeycomb like crumb. The texture is spongy yet soft on the inside, with a chewy and slightly crispy exterior. It’s sweet, coconutty, and has a subtle hint of pandan flavor, making it a truly unique but pleasant dessert.

I wanted to update you all on how to make this cake with success. It’s pretty much the same recipe as my previous one but with a slight adjustment to the directions and baking. Many of you have sent me a lot of messages about why your cake didn’t turn out so I hope these instructions will help you out. This cake is simple in ingredients but it can be quite technical. If the eggs are over whipped, the cake will fall after baking. Use the wrong pan and you will see less honeycomb action. If the baking powder is not active, you will not have the honeycomb structure. Oven temp also matters. If you use too much flour, the cake will be dry. If you bake it too long, the cake will be dry. There are lots of ways this cake can go wrong. I have worked on this recipe numerous times and finally found the right portions to make it to the way I like it. A lot of recipes I found were too dry. My recipe is just the right tenderness and it has not failed me yet. Hopefully you can try out this recipe and get the results you want.

Note: This cake is also best eaten at room temperature so it doesn’t taste so eggy! So let it cool before you enjoy it!

The recipe is available on my website along with the full video on my channel. Link in my bio to check it out! Happy baking! 🙂
