Nyob Zoo! Hello!

Nyob Zoo! Hello!

It's Cindy Her!

Nyob Zoo! My Name is Cindy Her. I’m a full time Pastry Chef in the Pacific Northwest and creator, recipe developer, and video producer for C.HerCreations (C.HawjCreations), a digital platform dedicated to Hmong food and storytelling. I specifically focus on Hmong food I grew up eating but I also venture into other South East Asian food as well. As a second generation Hmong American woman, my goal is to teach you what Hmong people love to eat, what we cook, how we cook it, how it has evolved, and how we enjoy it. So welcome to my food blog! I want you to learn a little bit more about the Hmong food culture and I hope you all stay tuned on this culinary adventure with me.

What’s good

Nyob Zoo! I wanted to share this super easy cocon Nyob Zoo!

I wanted to share this super easy coconut jello recipe just in time for any Spring festivities you may be having soon. This jello is made with agar agar instead of gelatin. So it’s vegan, dairy free, and gluten free friendly. I grew up eating this jello since it was something my aunty would make for the family when we had a party. You’ll see this jello being made in many Southeast Asian countries as well. It’s coconutty and texturally fun. You can have fun with this and add food coloring to make it colorful or add chunks of fresh fruit for texture and color.

Agar agar is derived from red seaweed (red algae), making it a great vegan alternative to gelatin. It’s flavorless and is commonly used to set desserts with a much more firmer and stable texture. For it to work properly, it must be heated in liquid.

For the full written recipe, check out my website. The full video is also available on my YouTube channel. Link in my bio.

Nyob Zoo! Here’s my Uncle’s all time favorite sti Nyob Zoo!

Here’s my Uncle’s all time favorite stir to make: Breakfast Sausage Stir Fry. This dish is something he’s been making ever since I was a kid and now he makes it for his kids and they love it. It’s been awhile since I’ve had it and forgot how simple and full of flavor it still is. This stir fry is best eaten with rice to make it more filling. Growing up we would also make it with kielbasa and hot dogs since they were cheap and affordable! So give it a try! Happy cooking!

Full recipe and video is live on my website and channel. Link in my bio to start cooking!

Or comment “Breakfast” and I’ll DM you the recipe!
