Nyob Zoo!

I wanted to share this really easy but delicious flat croissant to you so you can make it for any holiday! Yes! I used Costco croissants to save time and money. And yes, it taste really good especially with the homemade brown sugar honey butter. They’re crispy, buttery, sweet and slightly salty. Since Valentines day is coming soon, I made these Valentines themed. Give this a try! Sending you all LOVE during these crazy times.

Main Ingredients: Costco croissant, brown sugar honey butter, and sprinkles/chocolates
Make sure the butter is soft enough to spread

Flat the croissants with a sheet tray!

TIP: Microwave the croissant first so they get soft to help press them down much easier and quicker.

Once flattened, spread the honey butter on the top and bottom. Make sure to place parchment paper on the bottom and on the top of the croissants. Place another baking sheet on top and bake in the oven! The baking sheet on top will help keep the croissants flat.

Decorate however you like. I used Wilton’s candy melts and Valentines day sprinkles and with HMONG hearts 🙂

Equipment

  • 2 baking sheets
  • parchment paper

Ingredients

  • 8 oz unsalted butter (softened)
  • 75 grams brown sugar
  • 50 grams honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 12-16 whole croissants (from Costco)
  • Chocolate melts, chocolate, sprinkles, etc to decorate

Instructions

For the brown sugar honey butter

  • Add the softened butter into a bowl along with the brown sugar, honey, salt, and vanilla extract. With a spatula, mix until everything is incorporated. Set aside until ready to use.

For the croissants

  • Preheat oven to 350'F.
  • Microwave the croissants for 30 secs so they get soft. Softening them first will make it easier and quicker to press them down flat! Place the softened croissants onto a sheet tray lined with parchment paper. Place another parchment paper on top of the croissants along with another sheet tray (of the same size as the bottom sheet tray) and press! Press hard so the croissants gets flattened.
  • Once flattened, spread the honey butter on the top and bottom of each croissant. Place the parchment paper back on top of the croissants along with the baking sheet on top and bake in the oven for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, flip each croissants, cover again, and bake for another 15 minutes. Then remove from the oven and let it cool completely before decorating with chocolate and sprinkles. Make sure to let the chocolate set before enjoying or bagging them.
