Make this buttery and caramelized flat croissants for Valentines day! The perfect sweet treat for your love ones! Easy and inexpensive.
Prep Time 5 minutes mins
Cook Time 30 minutes mins
2 baking sheets
parchment paper
- 8 oz unsalted butter (softened)
- 75 grams brown sugar
- 50 grams honey
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 12-16 whole croissants (from Costco)
- Chocolate melts, chocolate, sprinkles, etc to decorate
For the brown sugar honey butter
Add the softened butter into a bowl along with the brown sugar, honey, salt, and vanilla extract. With a spatula, mix until everything is incorporated. Set aside until ready to use.
For the croissants
Preheat oven to 350'F.
Microwave the croissants for 30 secs so they get soft. Softening them first will make it easier and quicker to press them down flat! Place the softened croissants onto a sheet tray lined with parchment paper. Place another parchment paper on top of the croissants along with another sheet tray (of the same size as the bottom sheet tray) and press! Press hard so the croissants gets flattened.
Once flattened, spread the honey butter on the top and bottom of each croissant. Place the parchment paper back on top of the croissants along with the baking sheet on top and bake in the oven for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, flip each croissants, cover again, and bake for another 15 minutes. Then remove from the oven and let it cool completely before decorating with chocolate and sprinkles. Make sure to let the chocolate set before enjoying or bagging them.
